Terms of service
The plain-language rules for using Chitemere Fresh.
Last updated: July 2026
What Chitemere Fresh is
Chitemere Fresh is an online marketplace operated by the Chitemere Group that connects farmers around Chegutu, Zimbabwe with customers. Farmers supply produce, the Chitemere Fresh hub verifies it, and customers order online for home delivery in Chegutu or collection from the hub.
Accounts
You need an account to place orders or sell produce. Register with a working email address or Zimbabwean phone number and keep your password to yourself - you are responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, attempt fraud, or harass farmers, customers or staff.
Orders and minimums
We sell in bulk. Baskets must reach $10.00 of produce before checkout, and delivery within Chegutu costs $1.50 (hub collection is free). Prices are shown in US dollars and can change daily with the harvest - the price at the moment you place an order is the price you pay.
Stock is finite and fresh: an item in your basket is only guaranteed once your order is placed. Every order gets a pickup code - show it at the hub or give it to the rider to receive your order. Keep it private; it is single-use.
Payment
You can pay by EcoCash, OneMoney, or cash on delivery/collection. Mobile-money payments are processed by our payment partner; we never see or store your wallet PIN. Unpaid orders may be cancelled if payment does not arrive in a reasonable time.
For farmers
Farmers post their harvest, deliver it to the hub for verification, and earn 85% of every sale - the remaining 15% funds the hub, delivery and platform. Produce must be as described, fit for consumption, and delivered when promised. The hub may reject produce that does not meet quality standards. Payouts are made to your registered EcoCash/OneMoney number and tracked on your dashboard.
Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel an order yourself while it is still Placed or Confirmed. After that, contact us. Problems with delivered produce are handled under our Refunds & cancellations policy - see the link in the footer.
Our liability
We work hard to keep the service accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" - we are not liable for losses caused by events outside our control (network outages, weather affecting harvests, payment-provider downtime). Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under Zimbabwean consumer law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the service grows; the "last updated" date above always tells you when. Questions? Message the hub on WhatsApp from any order page, or reply to any email we have sent you.
